April 2008 - PLASTIC BAG AMNESTY DAY
A very successful ‘Plastic Bag Amnesty Day’ was held in Bristol city centre, opposite the Hippodrome on the 12th April 08. The Whalebags team was there all day, battling the wind and collecting plastic bags from the ‘green’ people of Bristol. Thank you to all those people who brought their plastic bags and thank you for the hundreds of pledges we received. Let’s hope people keep their promises to reduce the number of plastic bags they use.

What happened to the plastic bags?
All plastic bags were taken away for recycling by EWS UK, a local recycling/waste management company based in Longwell Green. Whalebags wants to say a big thank you to EWS for your support.

Let’s make Bristol the first city to go plastic bag free!
